GL-4+ Gear Oil

GL-4+ sits between standard GL-4 and GL-5: it carries higher extreme-pressure additive loading than GL-4 while still remaining safe for synchromesh, making it the specification many newer manual and hybrid manual/limited-slip gearboxes call for. This page features MANNOL 8108 (75W-90, fully synthetic) and FANFARO 8702 (75W-90, rated to MIL-L-2105 as well as GL-4+), both manufactured in Germany to tightly controlled additive chemistry. If your service manual specifies GL-4+ rather than plain GL-4, using a standard GL-4 oil can under-protect gears under load, while a full GL-5 can attack yellow-metal synchros, so matching the exact spec matters more here than with engine oil.
